Vinous 92-94

The 2023 Richebourg Grand Cru is clearly a level up from the Echezeaux, very harmonious with pure wild strawberry and raspberry fruit laced with sous-bois and iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a little muscular in style and quite peppery, though I seek more finesse and precision on the finish. Fine, but I have encountered better vintages in the past. [Neal Martin, 25/03/2025]

This was the one wine which I was invited to try in both its wood and its ceramic aging vessels. From wood: an even ruby colour. the nose is attractively balanced but not yet giving off a huge amount. The palate though has a beauty to the fruit, more on the darker side of cherry and raspberry, with a sensual glossiness before adequate structure appears at the finish. From Ceramic: is the colour a touch more concentrated? If so, only by a fraction. The nose is currently certainly more reductive, though that will be temporary. More gas in the wine as well, then a weight of dark but vibrant fruit builds up at the back. Then a firmer finish. But complementary. Drink from 2034-2043. Tasted Oct 2024. Goods will be delivered to the address provided at order placement, provided it is a shippable address. We reserve the right to cancel orders to non-shippable addresses (e.g., USA dry states).

For UK delivery addresses outside mainland UK (e.g., Scottish Isles, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands), an additional delivery charge may apply. We will contact you with a quote.

Some international delivery addresses may incur additional surcharges. We will contact you with a quote.

We have no control over additional charges or supply restrictions applied by authorities in the destination area.

When placing your order, you may provide delivery instructions in case you are not available to receive the goods.

We require that goods be signed for or accepted by a responsible adult legally able to accept the goods.

Every effort will be made to deliver within 10 days; however, in rare cases, this may be longer.

Orders must be inspected at delivery, and any shortages or breakages should be reported to the carrier immediately before accepting the goods.

We will not be liable for any degradation in the quality of contents or packaging during transport by courier.
