Tasting Notes
Burghound 90-92
An exuberantly floral-suffused nose of discreetly spicy and ultra-fresh cool red currant aromas precede the seductively textured, refined and energetic medium weight flavors that display fine delineation on the lightly stony, dusty and balanced finale. This is pretty much textbook Pezerolles.
Vinous 90
The 2021 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru offers light red fruit, used tea leaves and undergrowth on the nose that gradually unfolds in the glass. Fine delineation, though not powerful. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, more black fruit here with tar and graphite notes. A little more worked in the winery and as such it is missing just a touch of noblesse and precision on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
