Tasting Notes
Burghound 90-93
Strong reduction and less obvious, though hardly invisible, wood presently dominates the underlying fruit. There is a wonderfully seductive mouthfeel to the velvet-textured flavors that possess that beguiling inner mouth perfume as well as plenty of dry extract that buffers the moderately firm tannic spine on the solidly lingering and mildly warm finish. This too needs to add depth but that should gradually develop over time.

Adjacent to Bonnes Mares, Les Fuees is east facing with stony soils. Destemmed and macerated for a month in open vats before maturation in oak for 18 months. Star anise, red plum and red cherry on this complex and bright nose. Silky smooth but plentiful tannins frame an expansive core of floral red fruits on the palate. Quite marked smoky, chocolatey oak at this stage but such is the power of fruit that it should knit together well with time. (TP)
