Tasting Notes
Vinous 93
The 2015 Calon-Segur has an attractive bouquet with black olive-infused blackberry, bilberry and a whiff of the estuary coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins and fine depth. It's a little grainy toward the finish with that marine theme lingering in the mouth. This is promising. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.

"Composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Calon-Segur was aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 20 months. It has a deep garnet-purple color and nose of warm blackberries, cassis, black cherries and licorice with touches of roses and dark chocolate. The medium-bodied palate is firm and chewy with good concentration and a spicy finish."

Tasted blind. A little overripe on the nose. Then some aggressive acidity on the palate so not well knit! (JR)
