Tasting Notes
Vinous 92
The 2010 Corton Grand Cru was the second release from DRC after taking over the Prince Florent de Merode holdings en fermage. This bottles showed very well. It is extremely perfumed, almost heady on the nose with beautifully defined blue fruit laced with violet. There is something sensual about the aromatics. The palate is lush on the entry that belies the structure underneath. It is just as crisp as it showed just after bottling, here with an added dash of white pepper on the aftertaste. Delicious. Tasted at the Bistro Roch in Nuits Saint-Georges.

Robert Parker 92
The sophomore Corton from the Prince Florent de Merode holdings was cropped at 17.5hl/ha on 22nd September and according to Aubert de Villaine, marks a move away from the flamboyant debut that to be honest, for this writer, did not quite gel with the signature style of the domaine. It has a more reserved bouquet with redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit. It is certainly more bashful than the 2009 this time last year, with subtle undergrowth notes that lend the aromatics another dimension. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp entry, almost piquant with lovely crisp red cherry fruit. I would agree with Aubert that this expresses the terroir far more eloquently than the 2009 with a peacock’s tail of citrus-fresh strawberry on the finish. Lovely. Total production is 433 cases. Drink 2014-2025. Tasted January 2013.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025
