Tasting Notes
Vinous 97
The 2009 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is one of the most successful wines of Francois Millet’s reign. This has light bricking on the rim. The bouquet bursts forth with red berry fruit, shoe leather and menthol, crushed flowers and sous-bois. Maybe it would benefit from a little more delineation? The palate is beautifully balanced with fine-boned tannins, an unerring symmetry and a silky-smooth texture. Hints of spice appear towards the tender and long finish. Superb. Tasted blind at a 2009 horizontal at Club 1243.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2045
