Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 91
Complex aromas of lead pencil shavings, blueberries, creme de cassis, and licorice emerge from this dense ruby/purple-colored 2000. Full body, sweet tannin (which provides definition), and outstanding concentration result in a seriously-endowed, finely-crafted vintage port with well-integrated tannin, acidity, and alcohol. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025. Importer: Frederick Wildman & Sons, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700

Quinta da Gricha constitutes about 40% of the fruit. Also Quinta do Fojo and Quinta da Agua Alta (which were in the blend up to and including 2011). Magnum. Glowing dark ruby. Sophisticated, complex nose. Luscious start and then some tannin on the end. Liquorice notes. A classic vintage. Some freshness.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2045
