Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 86
The very good 1995 is sweeter than the 1996, with a deep ruby/purple color, and excellent ripe black currant fruit intermixed with weedy, earth, and oaky notes. Rich, with admirable purity, and a layered, sweet finish, this wine should drink well for 5-7 years. A serious vin de garde from the backwaters of Medoc, Tour-du-Haut-Moulin is a name shrewd buyers should check out. Although the wines are never great, they are filled with personality, and are usually well-made, especially in Bordeaux’s riper years.
Anticipated maturity: 1998-2005
