Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 98
Medium lemon-straw colour. Intensely fragrant nose with aromas of jasmine, cinnamon buttered toast, stewed apples and preserved ginger. Concentrated honey-nut, warm apple tart and spice flavours fill the mouth giving ample flesh to the firm, fine structure. The bubbles are still remarkably frisky and, in harmony with the crisp backbone of acid, make for a relatively youthful, elegant and exquisitely balanced wine. Very long finish. Drink now to 2015. Tasted December 2008.
Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015

Very youthful and elegant with a typical Dom Perignon sophistication. It will be a joy to follow the 88’s and 90’s mutual development. What a debut by Richard Geoffroy! Wonderfully roasted coffee aroma on magnum and elegant chablis lick on regular bottle. Great elegance right now.

Definitely more orange than the 1996 – pale rose red with a hint of tomato. Extremely powerful, spicy nose -almost a hint of curry spice. Mushroom spectrum of mature Pinot flavours which stood up beautifully to Heston Blumenthal’s surprisingly subtle, though creamily meaty, dish snail porridge. Big, beefy, meaty, and then some florality. Wonderful development on the nose. Considerable selection of healthy grapes was needed to make this apparently.
Anticipated maturity: 2000-2010
